If you lighten or color your hair a lot, you probably notice how dry and damaged your

amino acids and hair color products and lighteners contain ammonia. Amino acids and ammonia are both a positive energy, so they repel each other and the amino acids leave the hair, resulting in dry hair. Box colors like palty, l'oriel, and other brands have even more ammonia than professional colors, this is to blow open the cuticle and place the large color molecules in the hair. Box colors also do not close the cuticle after the process is complete, leaving you hair in a extremely dry and rough state.
